Welcome

Hello and welcome to the VTSS Resource Hub! Where together, we seek to work smarter, not harder, so we invite you to discover, interact with, submit, or share these resources.

In 2022, we consulted our Virginia District Coordinators and Coaches to determine their needs. They collectively expressed a desire for a platform to share resources and examples of MTSS implementation. We know MTSS implementation has been continuously evolving and is complex. We are constantly learning new and innovative ways to implement the core components of the MTSS framework, whether from researchers or practitioners, making it difficult to keep up and find meaningful ways to share examples. We hope this resource hub can bridge that gap, as we think all the best examples can come from implementers right here in Virginia! Thank you for choosing us as your learning companion. We hope you find these resources valuable and that they unlock your creativity and inspiration.

Who We Are

The Virginia Tiered Systems of Supports (VTSS) is a collective of organizations funded and led by the Virginia Department of Education to support divisions with implementing and sustaining a multi-tiered system of supports (MTSS). The primary implementation partners include:

  • VTSS-Research and Implementation Center (VTSS-RIC) at Virginia Commonwealth University
  • VTSS Evaluation Team at Old Dominion University
  • Regional Training and Technical Assistance (T/TAC) Partners
    • George Mason University
    • James Madison University
    • Virginia Commonwealth University
    • Old Dominion University
    • William and Mary University
    • Radford University

What We Do

The Virginia Tiered Systems of Supports aligns academics, behavior, and social-emotional wellness into a single decision-making framework to establish the supports needed for schools to be effective learning environments for all students.

VTSS is who we are, and MTSS is what we do!

MTSS is a systemic, data-driven approach that allows divisions and schools to provide evidence-based practices and interventions to meet the needs of their students. This is done through a clearly defined process that is implemented to fidelity by all stakeholders within the school and/or division
